Derek A. Riley

Derek A. Riley, 39 of Middletown, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma in Baltimore from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was the husband of Stephanie Clary Riley.

Born March 24, 1970 in Frederick he was the son of Frank and Barbara Riley of Myersville, MD

He was a 1988 graduate of Frederick High School. He has worked in the concrete business and was self employed for years until recently where he began working as a Superintendent at North Star Foundation, Inc. in Frederick.

Derek enjoyed dirt track racing, four wheeling and riding his Harley. He enjoyed working on cars with his dad and four wheeling in his jeep with his son, Devon.

Derek loved spending time with his children and was a great role model. He lived for his daughter Brooke to cook for him and to sing for him.

He was a very special husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was loved by so many and he will be deeply missed. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed him.

In addition to his loving wife Stephanie he is survived by his two children, Brooke and Devon Riley, both of Middletown, a sister, Kim Remsburg and husband Scott of Ranson, WV, mother and father in law, Jesse and Becky Clary of Keedysville, MD brother-in-law, Mike Clary and wife Tara of Knoxville, MD nephews, Randy Eury and Brandon Riley and Jesse Clary, numerous aunts, uncles and friends.

He will also be remembered by his special friends, Henry and Cindy Droneburg, Mike and Leasa Cramer, Jay and Kristen Wright and his dirt track racing crew, J-Dog, Kent, Dick Ricky Bobby, Keith, Chip and his Dad.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, May 29 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Major Crystal Pruitt officiating.Interment will be in Jefferson Reformed Cemetery, Jefferson, MD.
Pallbearers will be Henry Droneburg, Mike Cramer, Kent Mann, Jeff Ropp, Shayne Lydard, Dick Tracey, Richard Wood, Larry Hurley. Special Pallbearers will be Brooke, Devon, Jesse, his father, Frank and Jay.

In lieu of flowers a fund is being set up for Derek's children, Brooke and Devon and contributions may be sent to P.O. Box 95, Jefferson, MD 21755.
