Derek DeBold Trimmer, age 12, of 3405 Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, MD, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, at his home.
Born April 28, 1995 in Hagerstown, MD, Derek was the son of Michael S. and Michelle L. New Trimmer of Sharpsburg.
He was a member of Covenant Life Church in Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents. Derek is survived by one sister, Shannon N. Trimmer, of Sharpsburg; paternal grandparents, Paul and Linda Trimmer of Vero Beach, Fla.; great-grandfather, Donald DeBold of Hagerstown; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bethany Ann Trimmer.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Tim Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Samples Manor Cemetery near Sharpsburg.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702, or Battens Disease Research and Support, 2600 Parsons Ave., Columbus, OH 43207.
