Dennis Clark

Mr. Dennis Wayne Clark, 61, of Walkersville, died on Sunday October 10, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital . He was the husband of Vicky J. Clark.

Born on September 9, 1949 in Frostburg, he was the son of F. Wayne Clark and the late Leona Leatherman Clark.

Dennis served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was retired from the State Highway Administration after 39 years.

After his retirement he went to work for O’Connell & Lawrence Inc. as a consultant.

He was an avid outdoorsman and belonged to the following organizations; Cold Deer Hunting and Fishing Club, Monocacy Pistol Club, Thurmont Sportsman Club and was a former member for many years of the 2 nd MD Artillery North-South Skirmish Association Inc.

His greatest joy was spending time with his two grandsons.

Also surviving are two children; Tina Marie Abrecht and husband Jeffrey Allen of Walkersville and Erik Wayne Clark of Walkersville. Two grandsons; Garrett Wayne and Lucas Allen Abrecht. Two cousins; Mary Jane Dawson and husband Michael and Thomas Leatherman and wife Karla. Uncle William Leatherman and wife Eve.

Also survived by numerous special friends that he loved like his family.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Wednesday October 13, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD., and on Thursday from 12:00pm until time of Funeral Services at 1:30pm, at the Boal Memorial Chapel, 19006 Legislative Road, Barton, MD 21521. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park , Cumberland , MD.

In Lieu of flower memorial contributions should be made to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908 , Eldersburg , MD 21784 .
