Denise Waltz

Denise Estelle (Barger) Waltz, 61, of Smithsburg, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2020 at her home. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to Mark Eugene Waltz.
Born on April 1, 1958 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Shipley) Barger. She graduated from Boonsboro High School class of 1976. Denise worked for almost 30 years at CitiBank in the Customer Service Division. She was a long time member of the Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene, where she enjoyed teaching children’s Sunday school and was a part of the ladies Bible study. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting creating hats and blankets, watching movies and spending time visiting her grandchildren. In the summer she enjoyed visiting the beach and was able to take a road trip to the Grand Canyon this past summer with her husband.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Timothy Waltz and wife Mindy and their daughter Margaret; and daughter, Jennifer Reynolds and husband Joel and their children, Charlie and Alivia. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Barger Jr. and wife Mary K; and three nieces.
Services will be private. Interment will be in Beaver Creek Cemetery.
