Following a brief illness, Delores Marie Ross Etheridge went home to rest on Monday, June 5, 2017 at Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, MD. She is the daughter of the late Lucille T. Dodson, and Stepfather Wilford Dotson.
She was predeceased in death by her husband William (Billy) Etheridge, two daughters Sonya and Tamara Ross. Delores is survived by a daughter Sheila Ross Swinson, and son William (BJ) Etheridge, Jr. Grandmother of Shatara Swinson, Cavaelus Swinson, DeAndre Clinton, Mehki Etheridge, London Etheridge and Austin Etheridge. Great-grandmother of Serenity Falson. Sister of Gloria A. McKoy (Reginald), and Brother Thomas Thompson. One Niece Stephanie Thompson and a Nephew Reggie McKoy II. Also, surviving are one Aunt, Anna D. Powell, two Uncles, William Powell and William E. Campbell. Many Cousins and other family members, and friends.
Delores graduated Lincoln High School in 1960. Following graduation, she enrolled in numerous classes in typing and secretarial training at Frederick Community College. After becoming skilled in typing and office management she found employment with the Department of Planning and Zoning in Frederick County, MD. She loved the position that she held in this office, because it provided her with the opportunity to see firsthand the future planning and growth of Frederick city and the county. Delores later became interested in the Health field because she always enjoyed helping others. She started taking courses in nursing, and earned a Practical Nursing Certificate (PN). She enjoyed many years working at several health facilities.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
