Delissa Johnson

Delissa A. Johnson of Frederick, Maryland died on December 15, 2013, after a difficult battle with cancer.  She was born on September 15, 1941, and was a life long resident of Frederick, Maryland.  Delissa Johnson was a member of the Lincoln High School Class of 1959.  She had a long career retiring from Verizon in 2000.  In 1964, Delissa Johnson married Charles Johnson who remained by her side for almost fifty years.  The most important thing to her was her family and the love she created in a home with Charles.  Delissa and Charles had two children Charlene Johnson-Baker and Gordon Johnson. She also had a devoted daughter-in-law Donna and son-in-law Dereck.  Delissa's entire focus was on her family, especially her children.  Delissa enjoyed traveling and absolutely loved going on cruises with her husband.
The highlight of her life came in 2008 when she became a Grandmother for the first time.  Delissa relished at the fact that she was a Grandma.  Delissa was a wonderful Grandma to her three grandsons Gordon Jr., Sam, and Dereck Jr.  Even during her battle with cancer, Delissa completely dedicated her life to her grandchilderen.  She was the best baby sitter and play pal to her three boys.  We are certain that she is watching her grandsons closely from a comfortable place in heaven.
Visitation will be December 18, 2013, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland.  The funeral service will be December 19, 2013, 10:00 AM also at the Stauffer Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
