Mrs. Deirdre A. Brehl, 61 of Dickerson, MD., died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at her home. She was the wife of Robert J. Brehl.

Born April 26, 1946 in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Dennis F. and Mary Dorothy Shea Murnane.

Mrs. Brehl was a graduate of St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She was a counselor and teacher for 26 years for the Frederick County Board of Education, serving at Ballenger Creek Middle School, Walkersville Middle School, Middletown High School and Frederick High School. She was a member of Frederick County Teachers Assoc., National Education Association, and MD State Teachers Assoc. Deirdre bred and raised Irish Wolfhounds and was a member of the Potomac Valley Irish Wolfhound Club. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Barnesville.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her cousins Jonathan Shea of Wash., D. C. and Mary Blewitt and uncle Edmund Blewitt both of Waterbury, CT, her father-in-law Bernard Brehl, Jr. and wife Mary of Granger, Indiana, her brothers - in-law and sisters-in-law Dorothy Murnane of Waterbury, CT, Bernard Brehl, III and wife Virginia, John Brehl and wife Jane all of TN, Thomas Brehl and wife Paula of Ohio, Stephen Brehl and wife Marianne of NY., Mary Ellen Given and husband Robert of Ohio and Kevin Cocoran of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her brother Dennis Murnane, Jr and sister-in-law Katherine Cocoran.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Tuesday, November 6, from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 7, at 10:30 a.m., from St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnesville Rd., Barnesville, MD, with Father Michael Brehl as Celebrant.

Graveside services will be held at Roscoe Cemetery, Coshocton, Ohio.
