Debra A. James, 63, of New Market, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, May 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 13, 1955, in Silver Spring, MD, she was the daughter of the late Archie A. and Gertrude Anne (Lazarus) Davis. She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Frank E. James.
Debra was a 1973 graduate of Wootton High School in Rockville. After high school she immediately began her 42 year career with U.S. Department of Energy, where she was employed until her retirement.
She was a Women of the Moose member located in Frederick. Debra enjoyed riding the Harley with her husband and did have a motorcycle license for which she was very proud. Debbi and Frank brought much joy to so many people through D&F Sounds for 20 years, providing entertainment, like Karaoke, in the Maryland and Pennsylvania areas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Antonette L. Kennard and husband, Tommy, of Frederick and Jessica M. Kitzmiller and husband, Tracey of Mt. Airy. She was affectionately known to her grandchildren, Dustin Kitzmiller, Ashleigh Kitzmiller and Caleb Pullum, as Granny. Also surviving are her sisters and brother, Patricia A. Prom, Brenda S. Himes, Ivy J. Montague, Archie M. Davis and Ruth E. Garavalia.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville in Mt. Airy, MD.
A celebration of Debra's life journey will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Stauffer Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
