Debra Edwards

Debra Francine Edwards of Frederick departed this world on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born June 28, 1957, Debra was the daughter of Mr. James H. Edwards, Jr., and the late Mary L. Jackson.
Debra graduated from Frederick High School in 1975. She was employed for 16 years with Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located in Walkersville, Maryland as a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant. Debra was previously employed as a Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant under the Genesis Health Care System at Meridian Nursing Home as well as with Frederick Memorial Hospital. Debra was a member of International Community Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Jerry Price and his wife Ann.
Debra is survived by her devoted father, James H. Edwards Jr; two sisters; Ruth Ann Edwards, Marsha Edwards-Preston; one nephew, Curtis Edwards (Amy); one great nephew, Tevin Edwards all of Frederick, MD.
She also leaves to cherish her memories four aunts; Martha Holliday (Robert), Lena Jackson, Charlotte A. Edwards and Arianne L. Edwards all of Frederick, MD;
Debra is also remembered by several devoted friends; Sherry Bowie, Roxanne Lee, Jennifer Jackson, Brenda Bowie and Carla Seabolt.
Debra was preceded in death by her mother; brother, and both maternal and paternal grandparents; several uncles and cousins.
The family thanks all of the nurses and doctors who cared for Debra. Special thanks to Frederick Memorial Hospital Hospice Care Unit and Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A heartfelt special thanks goes to Aunt Charlotte Edwards for her love and devotion as Debra’s caregiver.
The family will receive friends at 10 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Jackson Chapel United Methodist Church, 5609 Ballenger Creek Pike, Frederick, MD. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the church. Pastor Rex R. Bowens, Sr., will be officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Frederick, MD.
