Deborah L. Tecle "Debbie" passed away at the age of 69 on October 26, 2020.
She was the middle daughter born on February 12, 1951 to the late Augustus and Geneva Cammon, of Akron, Ohio.
Deborah was the loving wife of Tom Tecle, her husband of 43 years.
Debbie was an amazing person from childhood through adulthood. She attended South High and Akron University. She was a very focused and driven woman as shown by the many activities that she participated. She was a member of G.A.A., Gym Assistant, Booster Club, Dramatic Club, Student Council, Secretary, Sr. Choir, Radio Workshop, King "C" Committee Chairman, Harmonettes, Mixed Ensemble, Jr. Homecoming Attendant, Sr. Homecoming Crowner, 59'ers Committee, Sr. Advisory Committee and Ticket Seller. She also loved to sing, dance, listen to music and travel. She had the ability to make people smile whenever she walked into a room or when she just smiled herself.
She was the most caring and giving person you would ever meet. As a young adult, she listed in her yearbook her preferences, God, family, "Lil Jackie Lee, clothes, The Jet Set, The Fennells, Bay, Vivian, Blackie, Ma Fennell, Good Times and a Certain Someone. Her light will live on in the lives of those who crossed her path. She will be missed terribly and always remembered for her kind, gracious, loving and generous spirit.
After she moved here to the Washington area, she worked at the Washington National Cathedral, and radio station and then at Ivymount School for special needs kids. She loved working at Ivymount, with all of her co-workers, and loved the kids that attended. While she worked at the Church House after work she used to coach basketball, and help out those who were at a disadvantage with their homework.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by their children, Theodora and Geneva "Marshal" Tecle; sisters, Mary (Clyde) McDaniel and Pamela (Steve) Beacham; cousin, but more like a brother, Bill Jr. Hawkins.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Joann Hawkins.
