Deborah Peña

Deborah Ann Peña, 55, of Frederick, MD, passed away on Thursday April 11, 2019 at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.
She was born March 15, 1964 in Oakland, MD, she was the daughter of Patricia Ann Welch and the late Russell Leroy Welch, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, Jose Alfredo Peña, of Frederick; three daughters, Stacy Ramirez and her husband, Felipe, of Winston Salem, NC, Alicia Ramirez and her husband, Carlos, of Frederick and Stevi-Ann Schmidt of Bowling Green KY; one stepson, Enrique Peña, of El Salvador; 12 grandchildren, Carlos Moreno, Ariana Mora, Ethan Schmidt, Makenzie Mendoza, Alejandro Mendoza, Jordan Schmidt, Makayla Mendoza, Isiah Soto, Katelyn Ramirez, Christian Burgos, Kaylee Ramirez and Daniel Peña; one great-grandson, Mateo Josiah Flores Mora; one brother, David Welch; two sisters, Lisa Sweitzer and Teresa Salazar; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell Welch, Jr. and Timothy Welch; sister, Shirley Wagner; nephew, Brian Ward; and granddaughter, Destany Schmidt.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday April 15, 2019 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where at 7 p.m. a balloon release ceremony will be held.
