Deborah Ann Boucher, 75, of Jefferson, passed from this life on Friday, December 27, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on December 25, 1949, in Brunswick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward Fauble and Viola (Ayers) Fauble.
Debbie graduated from Laurel High School in 1967. Prior to starting a family, Debbie worked in Washington, DC for International Associates and then Goddard Space Flight Center. After Denise and Matt were older, Debbie returned to work; first at People’s Home Furnishings in Brunswick and then for Haugh & Winters Law Firm until she retired.
Debbie attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Harper’s Ferry, WV. She spent many years volunteering at the Jefferson Ruritan Carnival serving food at the food pavilion.
Debbie loved to bake and was known for her chocolate cake with caramel icing, coconut cake, peanut butter balls and “moose drops”. She also canned bread and butter pickles and jams that were always a favorite of family and friends.
Debbie, also known as Ya to friends of her grandchildren, could be found at soccer games or in the stands supporting her grandchildren and their friends. Ya loved to treat all the kids with her baked goods.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kirk E. Boucher; her daughter, Denise Watkins and her husband, Chris (Ashland, VA); her son, Matt Boucher and his wife, Rachel (Arlington, VA). Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Mackenzie Watkins (Cincinnati, OH), Jacob Watkins (Madrid, Spain), Maya Boucher and Josh Boucher (Arlington, VA). She is also survived by her sister, Vicki Poe and her husband, Ralph; nephew, Jason (Lynda) Poe; and niece, Jaime (Nathan) Hendrickson.
She was predeceased by her sister, Denise Fauble.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patricia Motter, Sherri Duval and Vicki Gordon for the love and care they showed Debbie these last months. Nurse Tina and the staff from Hospice of Frederick County provided wonderful care these past 6 months that the family very much appreciated.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick.
A celebration of Deborah's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick. Pastor John Unger will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to Frederick Health Hospice or St. John Lutheran Church in Harpers Ferry, WV.
