Debra "Debbie" K. (Barnhart) Riffle, 55, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on September 27, 1958, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Janet L. (Hartman) Barnhart of Hanover, Pennsylvania and the late George H. Barnhart.
Debbie attended South Western High School in Hanover, class of 1976.
Along with her husband, Debbie often attended Glade United Church of Christ in Walkersville, Maryland.
For the past seventeen years, Debbie worked for Antietam Travel Agency, Inc. in Frederick as a travel agent. There, she worked with many clients that became dear friends. She planned many vacation getaways for locals in the area and even a few for herself and her husband. She took great pride in her work and what she did. She was proud of being named a Master Cruise Counselor, having booked several hundred cruises for her clients.
In her spare time, Debbie enjoyed being with her family, friends, watching the Ravens Football Team, traveling all over the world, and going to the beach and bay.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Scott Riffle, whom she married on July 25, 1981; her father-in-law, Albert Riffle of Thurmont, Maryland; and many special friends who she considered family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Audrey L. Riffle.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland 21702. Father James Hamrick will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Thurmont, Maryland.
Family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the funeral home. For the convenience of family and friends, the funeral home will be open after 12 noon on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231 or to Frederick Memorial Hospital, 400 West 7th Street, Frederick, MD 21701.
