Dean Ralph Young, 90, of Gilardi Road in Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife of sixty five years, Velma Rosalie (Smith) Young, on October12, 2009.
Born on March 12, 1922 in Gordon, Nebraska, he was the son of the late James Cicero and Eiffie (Spencer) Young.
Mr. Young was a 1940 graduate from Boonsboro High School and he retired from Fairchild Industries, Inc. in 1984 after forty and a half years of service. He was a Private First Class in the Air Corps until his Honorable Discharge in December of 1945. He was a member of the Boonsboro Bible Church.
He is survived by his two daughters, Gloria and her husband Gilbert Green, and Deanna and her husband Charles Sigler, Sr; one granddaughter, Heather and her husband Timmy Martz; one grandson, Charles Sigler, Jr. and his fiancée Jennifer Cascella; all of Boonsboro. He is also survived by three great-grandsons, Dylan and Dalton Martz of Boonsboro, and Alex Sigler; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Sigler; and two sisters, Bonita Shank of Boonsboro and Deloris Flook of Middletown, Maryland.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; Willie L., James, Raymond E. and Arnold S. Young and one sister, Virginia M. (Young) Green.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, Boonsboro. Rev. Robert D. Welty will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
