David L. "Terry" Ingram

June 27, 1946 — November 30, 2017

Mr. David L. "Terry" Ingram, 71, of Hagerstown died suddenly Thursday, November 30, 2017 as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Born June 27, 1946 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late David Luther "Garold" Ingram and the late Beatrice Irene (Myers) Ingram. He grew up in Antietam.

Terry resided at a group home with ARC of Washington County since 1999 and enjoyed the many activities provided there. He worked at Goodwill, Hagerstown YMCA (his favorite) and ARC of Washington County.

He was a great collector of many things including, watches, clocks, hats, cars and trucks, baseball memorabilia, and Nascar collectibles. His favorite sports team was the one with the best record!

Everywhere he went he met someone he knew. Terry enjoyed many trips with ARC to Ocean City, Las Vegas, Bahamas and Nashville. He loved to ride in a car, shop, go out to eat, and visit antique shops and flea markets. He was always on the lookout for lost money! He looked forward to occasionally having fun at the slot machines.

Terry was a unique, funny, caring and memorable character. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends at ARC. But he is happy to join his loved ones that have passed into the hands of God before him. Terry was of the Protestant faith, and he always had God in his heart.

He is survived by his guardians, Viola L. Marshall (aunt) and Tina L. Stotelmyer (cousin); and many cousins, Terry E. Marshall, Keith D. Marshall, Timothy F. Marshall, Todd L. Marshall, Lou Ingram Baker, Gloria Ingram Thompson, Donald Hammersla, Jr., Teresa Keebaugh, Dawn Snyder, Gregory Stevens, and April Hilliard.

In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lillie V. McCoy Myers Marshall and Samuel K. Myers; paternal grandparents, George Ingram and Daisy Ingram; uncles, Walter L. Marshall and Howard "Tink" Ingram; aunts, Alice Louise Martin, Phyllis Knight, Sylvia Jean Hammersla, and Frances Tenant; cousins, Harold "Nuck" Ingram, Maurice Myers, Wayne Stevens, Karen Sue Stevens, and David "Stork" Stout.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Graveside services will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6 at Samples Manor Cemetery, 2128 Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, MD 21782. Officiating will be his cousin, Pastor Terry E. Marshall.

If desired, donations may be made in his name to ARC of Washington County, 820 Florida Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
