Mr. David "Davey" Charles Shoemaker, Jr., 39, of Monrovia, died on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at University of Maryland Medical Center. He was the loving husband of 15 years to Shawna O'Neill Shoemaker, and the loving father to his three adorable children, Ana, Shane, and Alysa.
Born February 8, 1974 in Fairfax, Virginia, he was the son of David Charles Shoemaker, Sr., of Monrovia, and the late Mildred Cottman Shoemaker.
Davey worked for 21 years for Harland J. Shoemaker and Sons Excavating Company. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, four wheeling and camping with his wife and kids.
He was a dedicated member of the Maryland International Harvester Collectors Club #39.
In addition to his wife, children, and father, Davey leaves behind his brother, William T. Shoemaker of Atlanta, Ga.; and two cousins, Harland J. Shoemaker, Jr., and wife, Tammy, of Ijamsville, and their four children; and Loretta Shoemaker Bing, and husband, Shawn, of Monrovia, and their four children.
Davey also will be remembered by his special friends, "the good ole' boys" with whom he shared many good times..Troy Knoll, Doug Wallace, Jr., Doug Wallace, Sr., Jerry Murphy, Tommy Murphy, Jake Murphy and Charlie Wood.
In addition to his mother, he also was predeceased by his uncle, Harland Shoemaker, Sr.; and his grandparents, James W. and Louise Shoemaker, and William and Mary Cottman.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A celebration of Davey's life will begin at 6 p.m.
Interment will be private.
