David Winfield Van Fossen, 59, of Waynesboro, PA, formerly of Frederick, died unexpectedly on March 10, 2018 at his home.
Born March 16, 1958 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Eldred Charles and Margaret Elizabeth (Slagle) Van Fossen.
David was an avid and excellent golfer. Following his graduation from TJ High School in 1976, he attended FCC and played on the golf team.
He was longtime member of the VFW, and he enjoyed playing cards with the guys. David was formerly employed at Patapsco Design and was a former manager at Uncle Bob's Self-Storage.
David will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Eldred Van Fossen; a nephew, Brian Robert Van Fossen and wife, Sarah; two great-nephews, Logan and Lucas; aunt and uncle, Charles and Cecelia Boller; cousin, Betsy Cowperthwaite, and husband, Scott; uncle, James Van Fossen and wife, Louise; uncle, William Lambdin; aunt, Peggy Van Fossen; and many cousins and good friends.
Graveside services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 16 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market St., Frederick with Rev. Tim May officiating. Those attending should meet by 10:50 a.m. in front of the FSK Chapel at the cemetery.
