David Rose

David Arlo Rose, 79, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on September 11, 2018, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Joyce Rose.

Born on February 7, 1939 in Windber, PA, he was the son to the late Margaret (Shirt) Rose. He graduated from Mount Clemens High School in Michigan and went on to enlist in the United States Navy in 1957 served until 1960, he then reenlisted serving from 1960 to 1966, where he worked in Submarine Service serving aboard the USS BARBEL. He graduated military Fleet Sonar School and FT levels A-C, as well as completing instructor school. Following his military service he went on to work for IBM as a systems analyst with over 25 years of service, retiring as a Federal Systems Analyst Manager in the Federal Systems Division. He received 15 prestigious Golden Circle Awards through IBM. He was a member of the American Legion Francis Scott Key Post of Frederick for over 50 years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing, fly fishing, long drives, camping with family and RVing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Douglas Alan Rose; his sister Dawn (Dolly) Niemershien; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jill Ann Rose, whom passed away on October 31, 2015. He was also preceded by his siblings, Helen (Rose) Ling, Jean (Rose) Williams and King Hulton Rose.
A Celebration of David’s Life Journey will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 3pm at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jill & Dave’s memory to Phelps Hospice, 701 N Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591.
