David A. Poole, 74, of Boonsboro, Maryland, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born on June 21, 1941, in Windy Hill, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edwin W. and Edna V. (Condon) Poole. His wife, Elena Mae (Earp) Poole, preceded him in death in 2014.
David was an employee of Montgomery County, Maryland, retiring in 1993 after 32 years of service.
He is survived by one son, David L. Poole, Sr. and wife Isobel of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Deborah Bladen and husband Ron of Woodbine, Maryland, and Donna Walter and husband Steve of Easton, Maryland; three grandchildren, Brian K. Poole of North Hampton, Pennsylvania, David L. Poole, Jr. of Olney, Maryland, and Krista D. Poole of Frederick, Maryland; one great granddaughter, Leslie Elena Poole; and one great grandson, Elijah Poole. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Robertson; and two brothers, Stanley and Anthony Poole.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2016 at the Boonsboro Family Worship Center, 7605 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Jack C. Payne, Jr. will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Patuxent Cemetery at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Sunshine, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
Memorial donations may be made to the Boonsboro Family Worship Center.
