Mr. David W. "Wayne" Knott Sr., 72 of Brunswick formerly of Mt. Airy died on Wednesday February 19, 2014 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick. He was the husband of Andra L. Knott.
Born on December 31, 1941 in Boyds he was the son of the late Thomas Leo Sr., and Ruth McDonough Knott.
Wayne was a Dairy Farmer, School Bus Driver for Frederick County Public Schools and was owner of the former Knotts Butchershop. He raised Red Angus Beef Cattle and loved taking care of his vegetable garden and flowers.
Surviving are his children; David W. Knott Jr. and wife Melany of Mt. Airy, Dianne L. Roberts and husband Tim of Mt. Airy, Kerry L. Knott and wife Alisha of Florida, Holly Jordan and husband Chris of Mt. Airy and Ciara Montana Knott of Brunswick. Grandchildren; McKenzy, Kelsy, Aubry, Kaisy, Jerry (J.C.) Seal Jr. and wife Jennifer, Lindsay Seal, Tarin, Kaden and Zoey Jordan. Great Granddaughters Morgan and Madison. Sister Ruthanne Worrell and brother Robert D. Knott Sr. and wife Debby. He was preceded in death by a brother Thomas L. Knott Jr. and longtime family friend Tommy Hoy Sr.,
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Sunday February 23, 2014 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy where Funeral Services will be held on Monday February 24 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Prospect United Methodist Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
