David Wayne Knott, Jr., known fondly as Knotthead or DK, passed away tragically on May 24, 2023. He was born in Mount Airy, Maryland on September 1, 1966 and graduated from Brunswick High School.
David worked as a Superintendant for W.F. Delauter and Son and was an excellent heavy equipment operator all of his life. When not working, he enjoyed livestock, farming, butchering, and riding motorcycles. He loved riding on his tractors, making hay with his daughter KK and anything to do with farming. David also loved being around people and spent much of his time socializing. He had an exuberant enjoyment of life and lived life in the fast lane with laughter and passion.
David's family meant everything to him even though he was outnumbered by the girls; he loved being a father to many whose lives he touched. He was proud of his four daughters and McKenzy's fondest memory of her dad is giving birth to her daughter, Presley, who became the center of his world. His daughter Aubry shared a love of showing pigs and the family being involved in 4H.
David also knew how to make someone feel special by writing little notes or bringing flowers to his wife just because. He loved morning coffee with her at their home or visiting the Beach Shack but most importantly spending quality time together.
At night, David was often found stargazing or looking at the moon with Kelsy who says she will miss those moments the most. David also loved his dog, Puddy.
Despite being sociable and loud, David had an emotional and passionate side that touched many people's hearts.
