January 10, 1982 — August 25, 2024

Frederick

David Tyrone Harris, Jr., 42, affectionately known as “Day Day”, went home to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland surrounded by his loved ones.

David was born in Frederick, MD on January 10, 1982 to David Harris, Sr. and Joyce V. Chase (Devoted Stepdad Harry Williams). He attended Frederick County Public Schools. David enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He was definitely the “Life of the Party”. He was an avid lottery player and his favorite rapper was Lil Boosie. He was a jokester and had quite a sense of humor. He loved tattoos and was tattooed with captivating images. His body was a canvas and each and every tattoo told a story. Despite many obstacles and challenges he faced in life, he lived with resilience and courage and never let obstacles stand in his way. His strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew him. One trait of his that stood out was his caring and loving spirit. He was always eager to offer a helping hand.

He was the loving father to David Barnes Jr., Aniyah Harris and Ashton Tyler all of Hagerstown, Md. He was the protective and loving brother to Tiffany Williams and loving uncle to Zymir Best both of Frederick, Md. He leaves to mourn numerous aunts and uncles; Alexander Chase (Tracy), Brenda Jackson (Ross), Patricia Weedon (David), Andrew Weedon (Marcela), Rosa Snowden, Gail Hebron, Jerry Harris, Kevin Harris, James Harris (Leda) and Jeffrey Harris. In addition to his parents, children, sister, nephew, aunts and uncles he was survived by his Godparents Tammy and Terry Lee, Rhonda Jackson as well as numerous cousins and special friends.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Agnes Harris and Daniel Harris, Sr., maternal grandmother Lavana Weedon, Aunts Linda Snowden, Elsie Miller and Isabelle Harris-Smith, Uncle Daniel Harris, Jr. and first cousin Welmon Nash, Jr.

In life, David made the choice to be an organ donor. David lives on in the lives of four strangers. He gave the gift of life and in his death continues to care for others. David touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all that loved him. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Doctors and medical staff at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
