Mr. David Easterday, 51 of Mt. Airy, passed away surrounded by family after a two year battle with tonsil and kidney cancer on January 9, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Michelle S. Easterday( nee Thren) for 22 years.
Born on May 14, 1961 in Olney, he was the son of Louis Danny Easterday and wife Janet A. of West Virginia and Debbie Joy Warfield Ruppert and husband Gregory of West Virginia.
David was Vice President of Operations for L. Franklin Easterday, Inc. and worked for the family owned business his entire life which was founded by his grandfather and grandmother Franklin and Louise Easterday. David belonged to the National Ground Water Association, the Maryland Delaware Well Association plus numerous other well drilling associations and was a leader in the well drilling and geothermal industry.
David enjoyed eating out and vacationing with his family. He was an avid Harley Davidson and NASCAR fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his children, Louis Dustin and Tiffani Sharene of Mt. Airy. He is also survived by Grandmother Catherine Warfield of Damascus, brother Albert Denton “Denny” Easterday and wife Rachael of Westminster, sisters Danette Joy Crawford of Virginia Beach and Jenna Marie Gier and husband John of West Virginia. Uncles George Easterday and wife Sara and Frankie Easterday and wife Sandy. Aunts Cheryl Warfield, Olive Burns, Peggy Easterday and Kay Black. Son in law of Pat and Roland Schmidt of Mt. Airy. Brother in law of Jim and Cathy Thren and Stacey and Mike Murphy. Best friend of Steve Hash of Damascus. Also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. David was preceded in death by his cousin Robbie Easterday.
David’s wife and family would like to thank the oncology nurses and doctors at Frederick Memorial Hospital that supported David during his illness.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 pm on Sunday January 13, 2013 at Montgomery United Methodist Church, 28325 Kemptown Church Road, Damascus, MD where Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am on Monday January 14, 2013. The Rev. Wade Martin and Rev. Bud Kibbe will officiate. Interment will follow in Montgomery Methodist Cemetery, Damascus.
