David E. Dom, 74, of New Market, MD passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Born September 4, 1939 in Johnstown, PA he was the son of the late Elizabeth “Betty” E. Keppler Dom and Merle G. Dom. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Ruth N. “Day” Dom. In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by a daughter, Teresa Risley and husband Travis of Wahiawa, HI; brother, Barry Dom and family of Lancaster, PA; grandchildren, Kori Sierra and husband Luis of Clarksville, TN, and Joel Richardson and wife, Amanda of Ft. Hood, TX; great-grandchildren, Juliet  Addison, Makinzee Lynn and Zayden Richardson of Ft. Hood, TX, step-children, Thomas D. Zebroski and wife Julie of Woodsboro, MD and Steven J. Zebroski and wife Lynn of Mt. Airy, MD; step-grandchildren, Dawn Zebroski, Daniel Zebroski, Kristin King and husband Gordon, Michael Zebroski, Crissie Dutrow, TJ Zebroski, Jacob Zebroski and wife April, Zachary Zebroski and wife Kendra; step-great-grandchildren, Brittany, Austin, MacKenzie, Madison, Cayden, Noah, Serinity, Malia, Brandon, and Kylie. Dave was an avid Baltimore Orioles Fan, Washington Redskins Fan and since 1954, a big fan of the University of Oklahoma Football. He graduated from Lawton High School, class of 1958; He earned an Associate's Degree in Business from Montgomery College, Rockville; Served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1957-1963 in the 45th Infantry Division Thunderbirds. He worked for Sears Distribution Center in Gaithersburg, Dennis Kitchens in Mt. Airy, and was an Agent for American General Life Insurance, and Monumental Life Insurance, both in Frederick, MD. Dave was a member of the Masonic Fraternity since January 18, 1961; Member of Philanthropic Lodge # 168, A.F. & A.M., New Market, MD; 3 time Past Master as well as Past Secretary, Philanthropic Lodge; 33rd Degree member of the Baltimore and Frederick Scottish Rite; Past Venerable Master, Scottish Rite of Frederick, Lodge of Perfection; Past Wise Master, Scottish Rite, Chapter of Rose Croix; Past Secretary, Frederick Scottish Rite; Former Member, Ali Ghan Shrine Temple, Cumberland, MD; Past Secretary of Keystone Kopps Shrine Unit in Frederick, MD; Member of Hillbilly Clan # 42, Shrine Club of Ali Ghan Temple; Member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Frederick, MD; Past Grand Tall, Tall Cedars, Frederick, MD; Former Member of York Bodies of Frederick, MD; Member of Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 191, Mt. Airy, MD; Past Commander of Sons of the American Legion in Mt. Airy, MD; Charter Member and Secretary of the Men’s Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10076, Mt. Airy, MD; Family will receive friends at the Montgomery United Methodist Church, 28325 Kemptown Road, Damascus, MD 20872 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at the Church on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Wade Martin officiating. Burial will follow at the Montgomery UMC Cemetery, Damascus, MD.
