David Baer

David Randolph Baer, 59, of Thurmont, MD passed away on November 17, 2017.  David was born on April 20, 1958 in Frederick, MD, the son of the late Steiner Nelson Baer and Mary Esta Stup Baer.
David grew up on the family farm and was a graduate of Thomas Johnson High School.  He worked for several construction companies in Frederick County before joining the staff of Lawyer's Automotive in Thurmont, a position he held for twenty-nine years.  David considered the staff of Lawyer's Automotive as his family.
Surviving is his daughter, Rachel Baer, her mother, Cindy Long and her daughters, Crystal Johnston and Amanda Koontz.  He is also survived by his sisters; Shirley Acres, Gloria Barr, Mary Ann Baer and his brothers; Donald, James, Michael and Robert Baer as well as his aunts and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Baer.
He will be remembered by his special friend Strappy Lawyer and other longtime friends in the Thurmont area.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the James M. Stockman Cancer Center, Genesis Healthcare and Hospice of Frederick County.
Friends may call on Friday, December 1 from 11:00 until the start of services at 12:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont.  Reverend Tim May will officiate.  Interment will be in Utica Cemetery.
