Darwin Schmidt

Mr. Darwin D. Schmidt, 62, of Mount Airy, Maryland passed from this life on Friday, August 30, 2019 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Deborah L. McBride Schmidt who died in 2007.

Born on March 9, 1957, in Kearney, Nebraska, he was the son of Delbert D. and Wilda C. McNutt Schmidt of Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Darwin was a 1975 graduate of Fort Morgan High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from UNLV. He enjoyed a varied career including carpenter, card dealer, real estate agent, and car salesman. In his younger days Darwin enjoyed skiing in the Rocky Mountains. He was an avid golfer throughout his life and a member and friend to many at Holly Hills Country Club.

Surviving in addition to his parents are son Phillip D. Schmidt of Washington, D.C., and sister Connie C. Mese of Fort Morgan, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his son Alexander C. Schmidt and sister Lucinda L. Schmidt Klinkerman.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 4th at the First Baptist Church of Green Valley, 11404 Ridge Lane, Monrovia, MD 21770 where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM.

Pastor Mike Yoho will officiate. Interment will be private.
