Darryl Eugene Ramsburg, 55, of Union Bridge, went to be with our Savior on Monday, May 21, 2018. He was born on March 27, 1963 in Walkersville, MD, and the son of the late James and Geraldine Ramsburg. Darryl grew up in Walkersville, helping on the family farm. After graduating from Walkersville High School in 1981, Darryl worked for McHenry Auto Parts where after 27 years of hard work and dedication he was able to purchase McHenry Paints. He proudly owned the company for 7 years, before selling it to the family-based organization BAPS, where he continued to serve in a regional sales role and providing mentorship to the industry.
In his earlier years, Darryl spent most of his evenings and weekends at the ball fields. Whether it was screaming from the bleachers or calling pitches from a bucket, Darryl loved watching and coaching his children and all kids in sports. He coached fast pitch softball for over 20 years with the Heartbreakers, Walkersville High, GVAA, and Woodsboro. He also spent many years coaching football in the GVAA youth football program.
More recently, Darryl enjoyed working on his 1970 Chevelle restoration project, a replica of his beloved high school car. He also loved building special projects for his grandchildren and spending time with the family at his second home on the Eastern Shore of VA.
Darryl is survived by his wife of 35 years, Stephanie Ramsburg; one son James Ramsburg and his wife Megan; two daughters Sarah and husband Andrew Welker, Heather Ramsburg and fiancé Logan Peacock; and his “just like a son” Nick Grossnickle; four grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Ramsburg, Yardley and Burke Welker; one brother Dennis Ramsburg and wife Laura; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Darryl was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 24th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD. The funeral will be Friday, May 25th at 2pm, at the Stauffer Funeral Home.
