Darrel Lewis

Darrel J. Lewis, 74, of Thurmont, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at his home.
Born on March 1, 1944, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Nathan L. and Madeline Neva (Stitely) Lewis. He was married to Linda A. (Angell) Lewis for 53 years.
He was a 1965 graduate of Thurmont High School. Darrel worked at Moore Business Forms/RR Donnelly.
Darrel was a life member of Blue Ridge Sportsman’s Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jacen N. Lewis and wife Leanne Lewis, of Gettysburg; three grandchildren, Jacen Jr., Myracle, and Sarabeth; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Darrel's life journey will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street in Thurmont with Pastor Richard Gibbs officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home.
Private interment will be held at Blue Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
