Darlene Basham

Darlene R. Basham, 69, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick.
Born on April 3, 1948, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of Elwood McKenzie and Rebecca (Boone) McKenzie. Her loving husband of 51 years, Robert E. Basham, survives her.
Darlene was a 1966 graduate of Frederick High School. Also in 1966, she won the title of Ms. Frederick.
She was the owner and director of the Small World Nursery for over 30 years.
In addition to her husband, Darlene is survived by her daughter, Tammy Basham of Frederick; grandchildren, Sarah and husband, Rory, Alivia and Alexander; great-granddaughter, Grace Lynn; and brothers, David McKenzie and wife, Nancy, Wayne McKenzie and wife, Carolyn, and Mark McKenzie and wife, Stephanie.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Union Chapel Cemetery near Libertytown.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Frederick Alliance Church, 1631 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with Rev. Rick Shell officiating.
