Danny Gay

Mr. Danny Joe Gay, 60, of Union Bridge, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in the presence of his loving friends following a battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Kessler Gay for nearly 32 years until her death on March 14, 2014.

Born September 26, 1953 in Weston, WV, he was the son of the late Fred and Helen McCarkhill Gay.

Danny worked in maintenance for the Facilities Department at Fort Detrick for many years prior to his retirement. An avid lover of all animals, he held a special fondness for his Great Dane, Cinder.

Danny will be fondly remembered by his dear friends, the Jenkins family.

He is survived by a sister, Judy Holcomb and husband, Bill, of Front Royal, VA; and two brothers, Fred Gay, Jr. of Buckhannon, WV, and Terry Gay and wife, Linda, of Mechanicsville, VA.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Ron and Charles Gay.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
