Mr. Dannie Thomas Stansbury, 69, died Sunday, June 30, 2024 following a lengthy illness. He was born July 1, 1954 in Frederick, MD, to the late Dannie Stansbury and Lillie Peomroy Stansbury. He was the loving husband of Bobbie Jo Snoots. They were together for 30 years and married since 2017. He is survived by siblings, David N. Stansbury of Frederick, Dianna S. Weikel (Dennis) of Timonium, MD, and Darrell W. Stansbury (Joan) of Chambersburg, PA; and nieces, Dana Weikel (Robby Feehley) and Katherine Stansbury; as well as nephew, Zachary Stansbury. He is also survived by his aunt, Linda Jarvis of Monrovia, MD; and his great-niece, Xyla Stansbury; as well as many cousins.
Dannie was a 1972 graduate of Governor Thomas Johnson High School. Following graduation, he worked as a machinist at Frederick Iron and Steel until it closed in 2004. He then worked with the Frederick City Department of Public Works Water Management and remained there until his retirement in 2023.
In his youth, he was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Cub Pack #271, and Boy Scout Troop #271. He played Little League baseball for Yellow Springs. As an adult, he played competitive softball for 15 years at Pinecliff Park on a team sponsored by Jug Bridge. He loved all things outdoors - especially hunting, fishing, and off-roading on his ATV. When indoors, he loved watching western movies (especially John Wayne features) and trying his luck at various casinos.
Dannie loved rooting for his Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Steelers, watching NASCAR and listening to country music. With his wife and close friends, he enjoyed cruising the Caribbean. Known as "Breeze" to many, he will be remembered by all his special friends, including the family of Vicki and Dave Hubbard, Cricket, Lynn Koontz, and his hunting buddies in Luray, VA.
