Mr. Daniel Joseph Gillespie, Sr. 82, of Mabelvale, AR died Tuesday May 5, 2009 at his son's home.
Born in August 6, 1926 in Asheville, NC, he was the son of the late Briggs Andrew Gillespie & Nora Harper-Gillespie.
He was the husband of the late Marcella Gillespie who died February 3, 2002. Daniel was retired from the General Services Administration, where he worked as a Fire Protection Specialist.
He is survived by daughter Barbara Steveson of Mt Airy, MD, son Dan Gillespie Jr. of Mabelvale, AR, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services: Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2009 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd, Mt. Airy. Interment will take place in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD.
