Daniel E. Herbst
January 2, 1919 — July 16, 2008
Mr. Daniel E. Herbst, 89, of Frederick died on Wednesday July 16, 2008 at Northampton Manor Nursing Home, Frederick. He was the husband of the late Winifred Denyer Herbst.
Born on January 2, 1919 in Chewsville, MD he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Leathers Herbst.
Mr. Herbst worked for W. E. Miller Farm. He was of the Lutheran faith and was a very active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Temple Hills, MD. Along with his work in farming he enjoyed bowling and gardening.
Surviving are children Daniel Herbst and his wife Patricia, grandchildren Jeremiah and Sarah of Frederick, MD and Sharon Anderson, grandchildren Eric and Terri and great grandchildren of Texas. Brother John Herbst of Smithsburg and sisters Dora O'Toole of PA., and Louise Frey of Smithsburg.
Mr. Herbst was preceded in death by a brother Robert Herbst.
Visitation: Friends may call on Wednesday July 23 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick were funeral services will be held on Thursday July 24, at 10:00am. The Reverend Ron Reaves will officiate.
Services: Interment will be private.
