Daniel Niles

March 23, 1953 — March 15, 2018

Daniel Gustave Niles, 64, of Frederick Maryland, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Washington Hospital Center after a courageous battle with heart disease.  He inspired many of his medical and support staff with his courage. He will be remembered for his positive attitude to the very end and his inspirational spirit.
Born March 23, 1953, in Altoona, PA, he was the son of late Samuel Abram Niles and the late Patricia Anne Niles-Rocus.  He was preceded in death by his brother Randolph Niles.
Dan is survived by his brothers and sisters, Samuel Niles (Betty), Kathryn Niles, Patricia Baldwin (John), Deborah Niles, Yvonne Hill, Jeffrey Niles and Rebecca Meyer (Jerry).  He was a proud uncle to Patty, Donald, Julia, Brittany, Racheal, John III, Tricia, Ashleigh, Merle and Athena and several great nieces and nephews.  He is survived by a brother from another mother Edward Ingram AKA Turtle.
Prior to his illness he was a dedicated teacher at the Jefferson School.  He had a special place in his heart working with children with special needs.  His great patience was apparent with his unforgettable bond he shared with his younger brother Jeffrey.
He will also be remembered for his extensive research on family genealogy and was always excited to share his knowledge.  Dan was a dedicated brother, uncle and friend.  He will truly be missed.
A celebration of Dan’s life journey will take place at 6:00 pm on Friday, March 23, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland
Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, PA. at a later date.
The family would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at Washington Hospital Center for their dedication and determination to provide excellent care.  A special thanks to Dr. Kusay Barakat and his staff for their professional medical care and support.
