Daniel Netz Sr.

Daniel Elmer Netz Sr., age 69, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 29, 1939 in Boonsboro, MD, he was a son of the late Carmie Luther Netz Jr. and Viola Mae Morrison Netz.
He had worked as a painter for G.M. Gehr in Hagerstown and self-employed.
He was of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Marie Hoffman Netz, whom he married July 28, 1972; three daughters, Donna M. Pace of Seneca, SC, Betty S. Richards of Corsicana, TX, and Gracia R. Shannon of Sayre, OK; one son, Daniel E. Netz Jr. of Sayre, OK; three sisters, Joyce Sigler of Middletown, MD, and Doris Davis and Delavene Cunningham, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Luther E. Netz of Warfordsburg, PA; 11 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, George Morrison.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Daniel Fraley will officiate. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday any time after noon with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 P.M.
