Dale Frushour

Dale Eugene Frushour, 76, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, March 25, 2013 at his daughter's home in Fairplay while surrounded by his family.

Born on  July 18, 1936 in Wolfsville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edgar Martin and Ethel Irene (Winfield) Frushour.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Mae (Henson) Frushour, in 1984.
Dale was a 1954 graduate from Middletown High School and also attended the Hagerstown Business College.
He grew up as a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wolfsville, and later was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro, Maryland.
Dale worked as a Barrack's Clerk with the Maryland State Police and then was employed at the Hagerstown Penal Farm working in Parole and Classification as an office clerk.  After later working in the Advertising Department with the Herald Mail, he eventually worked as a Teller and Assistant Cashier at The Boonsboro Bank.  When the bank became known as Hagerstown Trust, he served as the Loan Officer.  He retired after 32 1/2 years.
He was a member of the Dixon-Troxell American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown, Maryland and the Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 in Williamsport, Maryland.
Dale is survived by one daughter, Angela D. Kessler and husband Mark of Fairplay; one son, Douglas E. Frushour and wife Tammy of Kentucky; three sisters, Elizabeth Barkdoll of Wolfsville, Doris Smith of Jefferson, Maryland and Laverne Bosley of Mt. Airy, Maryland; and four brothers, Kenneth and Delphin Frushour, both of Wolfsville, Alton Frushour of Middletown, and Gerald Frushour of Waynesboro, Virginia.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Emily and Erica Conrad, and Tyler and Dylan Frushour.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Alan Frushour; and a brother, Lawrence Frushour.
A ceremony in celebration of Dale's life journey will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 29, 2013 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 12704 Wolfsville Road in Smithsburg.  Rev. David D. Howell will officiate.  Final resting place ceremonies will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro where visitors will be welcome beginning at 9 a.m.
