Cyrus Roscoe Kepler, age 91, of 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, and formerly of Maple Avenue, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Fahrney-Keedy Home near Boonsboro.
Born Sept. 18, 1916 in Boonsboro, he was a son of the late John Hamilton and Sadie E. Schildtknecht Kepler.
Cyrus had been employed for 47 years with R.D. McKee's Hardware Store in Hagerstown.
He was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church where he had been an usher.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Louise Snyder Kepler, whom he married Nov. 1, 1941; one daughter, Jean A. Iseminger and husband Lloyd of Hagerstown; two granddaughters, Brenda K. Helmick and husband Arnie of Hagerstown, and Deborah A. Betts and fiancé Zac Gates of Williamsport; two great-granddaughters, Alexis Betts and Kira Link, both of Williamsport; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Olive Angle and Zella Shifler, and four brothers, Harold Kepler, John Kepler, Russell Kepler and Wheeler Kepler.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, P.A., in Boonsboro. The Rev. Robert G. Brennan Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
