Cindy Rosen, 67, of Union Bridge, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was born on March 13, 1953, in Oakland, California, to the late Charles and Eleanor Bock. Cindy grew up in the California East Bay area, spending her time riding bikes, gardening, and playing outdoors. She graduated from Pacific High School in San Leandro, California, in 1971.

Cindy worked at the State of California Disability Evaluation Branch from 1971-1979. During this time, she met her future husband, Bob Rosen, who was also raised in California. Cindy and Bob were married to each other on August 18, 1979, during a ceremony surrounded by friends and family at the Casa Peralta in San Leandro, California. Cindy and Bob welcomed their sons Scott in 1981 and Jay in 1985, followed by their daughter Kelsey in 1989.

Cindy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from California State University, Hayward, in 1986, while raising her children. In 1995, Cindy and her family moved from California to Maryland, where she worked part-time as a substitute teacher for the Montgomery County Public School District. Cindy continued to spend most of her time raising her children, but also enjoyed sight-seeing and traveling throughout the country.

Cindy most loved visiting and spending time with her family, which grew to include four grandchildren. She always spent the holidays surrounded by her loved ones. Cindy’s favorite activities were riding horses, reading, sewing, and caring for her beloved pets. Her most cherished roles were being a devoted wife, caring mother, and friend to animals. Cindy raised her children to value and appreciate family and the love of life.
