Curtis Eugene Turner

July 8, 1956 — March 19, 2025

Waynesboro

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Curtis Eugene Turner, who left us on March 19, 2025 at the age of 68. He was not only a devoted husband, son, father, and brother, but also a man whose spirit will forever be felt by those who knew him.

Born on July 8 1956, Curtis was a hardworking, compassionate man whose commitment to his family and his work was unwavering. He spent his life as a CDL truck driver, a career that not only provided for his loved ones but also filled him with a sense of pride and purpose. Whether behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler at Dot Foods, Home Run, North American Bulk Trucking, or dump truck with Thurmont Paving, he found joy in being on the road and in the people he met along the way. Curtis was also a volunteer firefighter for Maugansville Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Tammy (Wachter) Turner, daughters, Shannon (Justin) Kling, Amanda (Robert) Workman, Elizabeth Miesner, Siblings: Lisa (Bruce) Zulauf, Stacey, Douglas and David Turner; mother-in-law Frani Wachter and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Jean Turner, his grandson, Lane Miesner, his father in law, Thomas Wachter Sr and brother in law, Thomas Wachter Jr.

Above all, Curtis was a family man. As a son, he cherished his parents and worked tirelessly to make them proud. As a father, his love for his children knew no bounds, and he showed them what it meant to work hard and with passion. His advice, encouragement, and laughter will be deeply missed. As a brother, Curtis was beyond loyal and protective. As a grandfather, Curtis could be found handing out smiles, laughs, hugs or even a few extra dollars for a happy meal. Most of all Curtis was always offering support and a helping hand wherever and whenever it was needed.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25 from 12 to 1 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A funeral service to celebrate Curtis’s life will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Waynesboro Volunteer Fire Department, 10 Virginia Avenue, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
