With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Crissie Shultz on November 1, 2024. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. She has joined her beloved husband Mehrl Wilson Shultz known as Sonny, who passed from this life in 2010.
Crissie was born at home in Frederick, MD to Pauline Elizabeth Eyler Kilby and William Christopher Kilby. She grew up in Frederick, MD, and attended Parkview Elementary School, and later Frederick High School, graduating in the class of 1958.
Crissie was a high school majorette, member of the Student Council, and Class Secretary. Later in life she was a member of the Frederick Women’s Civic Club and enjoyed the work of planning the annual Mardi Gras celebration in Frederick. She worked a lifetime career with Alpha Cement/Essroc Cement Plant retiring to spend more time at her home away from home in Ridge, MD, a.k.a. “Paradise Cottage”. Crissie and Sonny loved to spend time at St. Jerome’s Creek with neighbors who soon became family. Crissie was known for her love of shopping, giving gifts from the heart, making award-winning apple butter with the Monocacy “Apple Kookers” and having pets that she loved as children.
She is survived by her sister, Cindy Renn. niece Jennifer Przybocki and husband Brian and many dear friends and relatives who will forever cherish her memory. Family that she thought of often, included Nicholas, Andrew, and Claire Przybocki, Scott Gordon and family, and many others. Crissie could be described as a person who was all-in with any proposed antics. She was the orchestra leader of many parties, gatherings, and celebrations of the significant and random. She was a spirited teammate and fierce opponent to anyone she viewed as a challenger.
Coming from humble beginnings, she lived a life of love, fight, and celebration. She took every opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those she loved, and we will all miss being a part of that forever.
A viewing will be held at Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick, on Friday, November 8, 2024, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held, Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Home at 11:00 am to honor and celebrate her life. The interment will be at Rocky Hill Cemetery in Woodsboro, MD. All who knew Crissie Shultz are welcome to attend.
In place of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Crissie’s honor to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
