Craig Swiney

Mr. Craig Allen Swiney, 40, of Frederick died unexpectedly Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at University of Maryland Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Julie Swiney, and a terrific dad to his son, Tristan.

Born May 2, 1975 in Grundy, VA, he was the son of Pastor Donald and Tina (Faulkner) Swiney of DeLand, FL.

Craig had a loving, kind, generous heart and would help anyone in need. He always made a point to spend time with his friends and to keep in touch, no matter where life took them. He enjoyed spending time with his family, but times spent with his son were the most precious to him.

Craig was a true outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Although he was never in the military, Craig was very patriotic and dedicated to his country.

Craig touch many lives. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, son, and parents,  Craig is survived by his brother, Pastor Terry Swiney and wife, Donna, of Richmond, VA; his in-laws, Vince and Jackie Bello, of Middletown; sister-in-law, Laurie Bello; brother-in-law, Steven Bello; five nieces and nephews, Sarah Swiney, Stephen Swiney, Steven Bello, Jacob Bello and Delaney Bello; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Lacy and Fannie Faulkner, and Earl and Cosby Swiney.

The family will received friends from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown, MD 21769, where a celebration of Craig's life will begin at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for Tristan and sent to PNC Bank, Attn: Jeannie Topper, 300 Commerce Drive, Walkersville, MD 21793.
