Craig Harry Meraklis, 56, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, January 21, 2022.
Born on April 23, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of Elizabeth Canalungo and the late Meno Meraklis.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Meraklis, his wife of 23 years.
He graduated from Severna Park High School in 1983 and majored in Computer Science, graduating from Anne Arundel Community College in 1990. He utilized his background in computer networking and high performance computing systems during his career spanning as a Sales/Account Manager providing IT solutions for the Department of Defense.
He loved tinkering with cars, changing oil, and doing minor repairs. He was a firearm enthusiast, and enjoyed researching new models and calibers. He looked forward to spending time with his friends at the outdoor range to target practice and attending outdoor shows at the fairgrounds, checking out new cool toys followed by a trip to Five Guys to grab a burger.
In addition to his wife, Christine and mother, Elizabeth, he is survived by his daughters, Melina and Elana Meraklis; step-mother, Christina Meraklis; sister, Linda Jensen and husband James; brother, Michael Meraklis; nephews, Nicholas Jensen, Meno Meraklis and his daughter, Brea; nieces, Alexandra Hood, Angelica Jensen, Sarah Coy and her children, Alexandra, Isabel and Landon and Angela Lyons and her children, Addison and Helena.
The family will receive friends from 1:15 pm to 2:45 pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 609 Center Street in Mount Airy, MD. 21771
A celebration of Craig's life will begin at 3:00 pm followed by light refreshments at the church. Rev. Dan Melton will officiate.
Interment will be private.
