Mrs. Cora Marie Setherley, 94, of Rocky Ridge died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at St. Catherine's Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of the late Charles Setherley who predeceased her in 1966.

Born July 8, 1920 and raised on a small farm on Newcut Road in Rocky Ridge, she was the eldest of nine children to the late Harvey and Carrie Hahn Pittinger.

In younger years, Mrs. Setherley worked for the Woodsboro Sewing Factory, Cambridge Rubber Factory in Taneytown, and later retired in 1983 after 17 years as an assembler for Freeman Shoe Co. in Emmitsburg. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Creagerstown where she participated in the Faithful Workers. She also was a dedicated volunteer with the Rocky Ridge Fire Co. Auxiliary, and she enjoyed playing Bingo every Saturday at the Fire Co.

Mrs. Setherley enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved children and never missed the Baby Show held annually in August at the Rocky Ridge Picnic. She also enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Setherley of West Virginia and Carl L. Setherley of Rocky Ridge; two granddaughters, Karen Ferdock of Jefferson and Debra Davis and husband, Keith, of Cascade; three great-grandchildren, Kortney Davis, Natalie Ferdock and Ryann Ferdock; a brother, Guy Pittinger of Rocky Ridge; and two sisters, LaRue Thomas of Pennsylvania, and Hilda Wilson of Taneytown.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a great-grandson, Michal Ferdock; a daughter-in-law, Alice Setherley; two brothers, Harvey Pittinger, Jr. and Elwood Pittinger; and three sisters, Dorothy Cavell, Mary Catherine Pittinger and Emma Pittinger.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont.

Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 24 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Creagerstown. Officiating will be Chaplain Ann Schlossnogle.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
