Constance Young

Constance C. Young, 80, of Thurmont, Maryland, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born August 2, 1935 in Danville, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Nellie (Apple) and Charlie Weatherford.  Her husband, Merhl F. Young, of Thurmont, survives her.

Connie retired in 1997 from Fort Detrick after 20 years. She worked in the Department of Defense.

She attended People’s Baptist Church in Frederick.

In addition to her husband, Connie is survived by her children, Deborah K. Hendershott and husband, Dick, R. Diane Streett and husband, Norvall “Bud”, all of Mt. Airy, Steven N. Crumpton and wife, Sandra, of Boonsboro and Dorinda Gail Guard and husband, Gary, Sr., of Woodsboro; brothers and sister, Calton Weatherford and Ophelia Murphy both of Virginia and Warren Weatherford of Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Moore and husband, Tyler, Zachary Hayes, Stacey Streett, Matthew Streett and wife, Kristy, Timothy Streett and wife, Jaime, Seth Crumpton and wife, Kristina, Jesse Crumpton and wife, Sami, Gary Guard, Jr. and wife, Blaire, and Amy Landis and husband, Chris; 11 great grandchildren, Zella, Finley, Cadynce, Owen, Lila, Gabriel, Camillia, Sebastian, Mali, Callyn and Grayson and her step sons, Rick Young and wife Lee and Dale Young and wife Kip.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Dalton, and brother, Charles Weatherford.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 14th at Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold G. Cooper officiating.  Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
