Connie Martin

Mrs. Connie J. Martin, 68, of Lewistown passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Monday, October 1, 2012.   She was the wife of Odale Martin and they recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary.
Connie was born on July 19, 1944 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late John J. Keilholtz and the late Naomi S. Keilholtz Long.
Connie graduated from Frederick High School in 1962 and was then employed by Investors Loan Corporation.  In 1973, Connie and husband Odale became owner operators of Martin’s Grocery in Lewistown until retirement in 2004.  After retirement she was very involved with Lewistown United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed her flowers, cooking, housekeeping, socializing on Saturday nights with friends, shopping and trips to Charlestown, WV.
She will always be remembered for her love of her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughter, Holly Howard and husband Wayne of Linthicum; granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Allison Howard; sisters, Carole Cramer and husband Charles of Martinsburg, WV and Marie Woerner and husband Chris of Thurmont.  She was preceded in death by her sister Betty Pacquet.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.  Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 5th at the funeral home chapel.  Rev. Elza Hurst and Rev. Susan Boehl will officiate.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown United Methodist Church Building Fund, 11032 Hessong Bridge Road Thurmont, MD  21788.
