Mrs.Colleen G. (Ford) Tibbetts died peacefully in her Brunswick, MD home on Monday, November 26, 2012, after a bout with lung cancer. Born in Baltimore on August 27, 1955, she was the daughter of George and Emma (Susan) Miller Ford (both deceased), and sister to Debra S. (Ford) Perry, Theresa Chambers, and Sherilyn Lehman . After growing up in the Baltimore area, Colleen settled in the Frederick County area in 1980 with her husband David A. Tibbetts, and her children, Amy J. (Herzog) Roberts and Kyle L. Herzog. Colleen worked in the service and retail industries until becoming employed by Lowes in the mid-1980's in the contractor sales department, where she worked until illness prevented her from continuing to work.
Colleen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and family member. She enjoyed camping in Maine with her family and sight-seeing in Washington, D.C. She was an avid reader, rarely without a book, and a candid photographer. Most of all, she loved being with her family members, both two and four legged, especially during the Christmas holiday season. Her joy of the holiday was only overshadowed by her everlasting love for her family, immediate, extended, and unofficially adopted. Colleen's greatest strength and personality trait was her unending love for her family and friends, "always and forever."
Funeral services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Friday, November 30 at 2:00PM where the family will be present to receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM. Services will be officiated by Tracey Lopez.
Interment will be in Park Heights Cemetery.
