Boonsboro

Clyde W. Tucker, 80, of Boonsboro, passed from this life on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at home.

Born on December 28, 1943, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Clyde Burton and Florence Helen (Goodwin) Tucker.

He was a Boonsboro High School graduate then entered the United States Air Force. After training in Texas, he was sent to Vietnam where he served for five years. He was honorably discharged and was trained as a Patrolman for the State of Maryland. CW was transferred to the helicopter division as a paramedic. Later he was recruited for corporate security at East Alcoa where he was employed until his retirement. While there he held a perfect safety record. He kept going by opening a private investigation company.

He became a 32nd Degree Mason in Frederick and was a member of the National Rifle Association. CW was a Boy Scout and through his love of the program he was able to help young boys acquire their uniforms and other items.

CW loved reading. He would sometimes read two different books at the same time. Not only did he read books but he also collected them, too, if he really enjoyed it. He would stamp it and then write "good read." When his eyes started to fail, he would listen to books. His passion for the Civil War was a source of learning that he would pass along to whomever would listen. He would get exercise by going to Flea Markets on the weekends. CW was a collector of many different items, including, bells, hand blown glass, civil war items and Indian artifacts.

He is survived his wife, Linda Tucker, of Boonsboro; daughter, Shawn Dodge and her children, Mikinna and Tucker Dodge; son, Clyde Wayne Tucker, Jr.; daughter, Rebecca McCauley and her children, Eric Kriner, Celeste Crum, Cullen Hunt, Zack McCauley and Kirstin McCauley; daughter, Kathy Moats and her sons, James and Andrew Moats; and to keep him really busy are his six great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter. Also, he is survived by a bonus daughter, Julie Coblentz and her son, Austin.

He was preceded in death by a son, Harold Kriner; and two brothers, Russell and Jerry Tucker.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post 10 in Boonsboro.
