Mr. Clifford Lee Garrott, Jr, 74, of Frederick, died Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Golden Living Center. He was the husband of Rose Corso Garrott for 37 years.
Born September 1, 1942 in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Mary Frances (Fry) and Clifford Lee Garrott, Sr.
Lee was raised in Brunswick and attended Brunswick High School. He retired from CSX Transportation in 2007.
In his early days, Lee enjoyed hunting, fishing and was especially proud of his vegetable garden he planted every spring. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved to cheer them on every game. He often would call his daughter and say..."Did you see that game?" He also very rarely missed his favorite game show The Price is Right.
More recently Lee enjoyed visiting the casinos at Charles Town and Atlantic City. He loved taking bus trips to Connecticut and Michigan to visit the casinos there.
Lee loved to cook and together with his wife, they hosted Christmas, Easter and many family gatherings. Most importantly, times spent just being "Grampy" to his grandsons were the most precious to him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Dawn Miskell and husband, Bert, of Myersville; his two adoring grandsons, Riley and Braden, whom he loved with all his heart; four sisters, Kay Wilson, Beverly Hauver and Kristi Hawes and husband, Drew, all of Brunswick; and Darlene Curbow and husband, Jeff, of Hagerstown; a brother, Steven Garrott and wife, Christine, of Deltona, Florida, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Garel Hauver and Gene Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21 from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Clayton Clark officiating.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
