Clayton Schaeffer

Mr. Clayton B. Schaeffer, 88, of New Market, MD, died, Thursday, September 13, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband for 46 years of the late Marion Goding Schaeffer whom he married on December 27, 1957.
Born October 13, 1923 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late E. Burke and Helen Kessler Schaeffer.
He graduated from Easton High School class of 1941 and later graduated from Temple University.
Mr. Schaeffer served in the U. S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star among other awards while serving in the European Theater.
He was employed as a group engineer at Glenn L. Martin and later worked for Westinghouse Corp. were he retired from.
Surviving is his son, John C. (Jack) Bliss and wife Linda of Phoenix, MD. Granddaughters, Nicole Bliss of Sparks, MD and Shelley Bliss of Baltimore, MD. A grandnephew, Thomas Schaeffer and numerous other family from Lehighton, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Bliss Pulliam, a sister Virginia E. Schaeffer and brother Earl K. Schaeffer.
Services and interment will be private.
