Mr. Claude Harris (Joe) Hall, 72 of Augusta, WV, formerly of Knoxville, MD, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the beloved husband of Janet L. Hall for 48 years.
Born on October 6, 1941 in Loudoun Co., VA he was the son of the late Jack and Elizabeth Harris Hall.
Mr. Hall was a graduate of Loudoun Co. High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines as a Corporal from 1960-1966. He owned and operated C.H. Hall Equipement Repair as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Joe was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and riding mules. He was a member of the American Legion Post 96, Brunswick. Joe helped coach his sons in baseball and football and also volunteered with the Cub Scouts. Joe will always be remembered as a very strong and courageous man and also a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Meredith (Zeke) Hall and wife Christina and their children Harrison, Andrew and William Hall of Potomac, Jeffrey T. Hall and wife Angela and their children Madelyn and Claudia Hall of Brunswick, J.Brock Hall and wife Sandra and their children Fisher, Julian and Samuel Hall of New Market and Edward L. Hall and wife Tammy and their children Lilly and Jovie Hall of Brunswick; sister Shirley Poston; brothers Robert Hall and wife Shirley and William Hall and wife Emma Jo and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM where a funeral service will be held on Friday,December 6 at 11AM. Pastor Howard Ruley, of Parkway Community Church, Frederick will officiate.
Interment will follow at Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick, MD.
